As an artist I would like to provide full support and promotion for all the fantastic collaborators with whome I shared some memorable projects! Today I present you the works of Sharon Boucquez. Sharon is an alternative haute couture designer known under the name "Haute Gothure". It was in begin 2017 that Sharon and I virtually have met thanks to a photoshoot collaboration for "Danza Della Luna" by Elias Gubbels Photography. Later when I have seen her fantastic designs, I have offered her to exhibit her works at the event itself which she kindly approved so and so we began a wonderful friendship not only as collaborators but also a same minded artists who just adore to work together!
Imagine a world where everyone is dressed in extravagant clothing. Characters from movies, series and books come to life. Refined, elegant dresses like a waterfall over your body. Majestic, glamorous gowns expressing your inner darkness.
With my label "Haute Gothure", specialized in dark fashion, I want to create this world. I want to make women (or perhaps men) feel like a queen or goddess. I want them to wear these costumes on their wedding day, a masquerade ball, on stage, in a video clip or for a photoshoot. Maybe even in a movie, theatre, or any other occasion.
My designs are handmade, customized and made with my sensitive feeling for comfortable fabrics.
I graduated in 2016 as Fashion designer with my Mongolian inspired collection “Fight like a Warrior”. It’s a sequel on my first small collection “Like a Bird in a Cage” which both describes my phases and experiences in school and even today. I once was that little bird, that was told by teachers what to do, what to study, or what to make. Even in my artistic studies, I was never free enough to develop myself and my style. But I’ve always been stubborn, and sometimes I just didn’t do what the teachers said. I didn’t study Latin or Science, like they all hoped, I learned for Interior designer. And I often tried to change the school assignment by pushing my own style in it.
At some point, when I was in college, I quit school. There was a lack of creativity, and too much focus on the technical part. So I found a job in the sales and started following a sewing course.
This became my new passion and I thought that this could be my dream job. And that’s why I chose to do a full education of 2 years.
I just always loved to be creative and style something! As a kid I used scarfs and blankets to dress my sister and I up. And since 2008 I’m doing most of my styling as model in photoshoots. I like to create my own concepts and dress up myself. While looking for ideas and making mood boards, I got interested in fashion and even had my own blog (which is no longer active). I fell in love with designs from Alexander McQueen, Elie Saab, Zuhair Murad, Dolce & Gabbana,… but also less known designers like Linda Friesen, Bibian Blue, Royal Black Couture, etc. However they are very known in the alternative scene.
My goal is to become one of them. I want to be named in one sentence together with these other names. And to bring the “gothic” style to a higher level. But most of all, I want to touch the people’s heart and be honest with them.
It was a great pleasure to work with Sharon on the Giveaway promotion for "Danza Della Luna" She has a very uniqe style which had expressed the way I wanted the image to become! This ofcourse I was really happy when she accepted to be a model to one of my headpiece creations. So I'm including this lovely picture from our jont project below and so looking forward to our many future projects! Do feel free to contact her if you have a perfect garnment in mind and would like to get it realized! She is very resourceful and a kind lady to work with!
Keep on inspiring!
